News Facts

The organizations that achieved Kronos Public Sector Enterprise Excellence Awards are effectively utilizing Kronos workforce management solutions to significantly improve efficiency and productivity:

  • Arlington County Police Department in Virginia implemented Kronos TeleStaff to manage its patrol scheduling and off-duty program. Switching from a manual to an automated scheduling process gives employees more flexibility and control over their schedules and a transparent system allows for fair distribution of overtime. Additionally, the police department can better track and code hours worked leading to improved efficiencies including a significant and measurable reduction in payroll error rate.
  • Jefferson County Board of Education in Alabama selected Kronos to improve efficiency, eliminate manual data entry, and make valuable information easily accessible to more than 5,500 employees and managers, particularly through the utilization of Kronos mobile and tablet solutions. The school system implemented Kronos across all 60 locations and has successfully improved efficiency and accuracy in the payroll process, reduced leave liability, and increased employee punctuality. Jefferson County school system is also leveraging Kronos solutions to help comply with Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements. With Kronos, Jefferson County is able to easily produce reports, which within seconds display hours worked by each part-time employee allowing the school system to maintain accurate electronic records for ACA-related audits.
  • Superior Court in Pima County, Arizona chose Kronos to manage a complex workforce consistently and accurately across all functional departments. Transitioning to an automated solution helped solve challenges associated with absence management and scheduling, reduced the number of pay codes and pay rules, minimized overtime costs, and improved efficiencies related to managing labor costs. With Kronos, the court expects annual savings of more than $40,000 that will be redirected toward citizen services.
